Storing
your PA System - by Chris
Tinning, Soundsavers
We all know the importance of using our PA System correctly to
get the best sound, but the equally important topic of storing
a PA correctly is often overlooked and can seriously compromise
your sound if a few common sense guidelines are not observed.
Adhere to the following
simple tips and your system will always be stored, and therefore
sound, at it's best!
- Avoid cold and damp conditions
- Damp reduces mid and top from
speakers, shortens cone life
- Damp degrades wooden cabs
whether chip, MDF or ply
- Damp can cause short circuits
and corrosion in electronics
- Cold amps will cause condensation
when placed in a warmer room ; allow electronics to warm up
and dry out before switch on
- Never expose amps or speakers
to direct rain, snow, mist or fog, or to high humidity.
- Avoid use near water and outdoors
unless specifically designed for outdoor use.
- Don’t tie knots in your
cables ; get some re-usable cable ties
Hope you find this helpful, Chris
